OUR PROGRAMS

Safe Home/Christian Values
Established in 2003, Light of the World Community Outreach (formerly Intermediate Christian Home) provides housing and support to individuals who were homeless or at risk due to financial hardships and mental illness. Residents sign a Shared Living Agreement which assists them in integration with community resources, volunteer or job options, and day to day activities. Residents have the opportunity to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ through in house group studies and attendance at a local church. Our hope and aim is that they will know the unconditional LOVE of God, His forgiveness and encouragement  through church community and Gods Word. God is Love 1 John 4:16.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH UPDATE!
During the springtime quarantine of 2020,  elderly and disabled residents came to our door for food and they sent us referrals throughout the city. That was how it all got started! We became friends and of course we offered prayer support. But now this has grown into a prayer ministry and some of the people we served  have joined our groups and a local church. Its amazing and heartwarming as some are now serving in our ministry or local churches. Basically, we deliver grocery bags and  pray for individuals and their families. We share God’s Love’s in practical ways. This area of our ministry is rapidly growing as we also serve the population at Tent Cities in Cambridge.

Robert Kerr Manor   (April 2021-present)  With the strength of God, our team reached out to residents of a local apartment  building monitored by security guards due to aggressive behaviour. We delivered fresh grocery bags to residents who initially met us in the parking lot.(sometimes with anger)  As we earned the trust of residents, we  prayed for their individual needs and over time they started to see  the reality of God through answered prayer. Thanks to God, things progressed and we were invited into the building’s lounge due to cold winter weather.  Currently we are leading an interactive Bible study with about 17-20  in attendance.

Training and Discipleship  through Cell groups (2022)  Presently, we are providing 2 groups for ladies. One is on a conference call and the other is at a local park or in our home. We are also providing weekly support to leaders in leadership through conference calls.

Restoring Wandering Believers Some of you may know that many Christians are shifting around in churches and others have left the local church during the pandemic season. Jesus, who was motivated by love and compassion said that a man would leave the 99 to go after that one lost sheep!  Matthew 18:12 God loves all his children and desires intimate fellowship each one. Therefore, we should do the same and that’s what we are doing!
